King Of Reptiles

The Komodo dragon is the king of reptiles, because it is the largest living reptile. It lives on the islands of central Indonesia. The Komodo dragon has a long flat head, rounded snout, large body with scaly skin, bowed legs, and a huge, muscular tail. Although it looks slow, it is actually quick and agile, can climb trees and can swim. A dragon can grow to 10 feet in length, weigh up to 300 pounds and eat 80% of their body weight. Their keen sense of smell helps them hunt. Dragons will eat most anything, including deer, pig, smaller dragons, water buffalo and humans.

Komodo dragons were almost driven to extinction, but now they are protected. There are now between 3000 and 5000 dragons in the world.
