The Blind One and Her Guard

There are many types of disabilities; some are more obvious than others. A missing limb can slow you down, but a body without any spirit is the worst disability. The Red Mare in the story used the Black Stallion as a tool to get over the challenges of life. The Black Stallion and the Red Mare proves that people can live a full life, without being limited by their disability.
As I was reading, I was reminded of another story. In it, Mr. Patrick John Hughes helped his wheelchair bound son Patrick by pushing him during the band's performances. The son’s name is Patrick Henry Hughes, who has been blind and crippled since birth. This young man, though wheelchair bounded, and blind , is a genius, he is writing songs, Like the Black Stallion, the father was there to help guide someone they love to live a full life. Or like how the Black Stallion guided his band of horses, and the Red Mare, or the young boy who could have chosen to be loyal to his father or the horses he loved. We each need to make a conscience decision about how to live life. Do you want to make a difference, or are you a person content with not making the world a better place? It doesn't matter if you're healthy, blind, or in a wheelchair. Each day has a challenge. You can either accept the challenge, or let it ruin your day.
One challenge to those who are disabled is that they are labeled. The word implies that the person is limited, or not up for a challenge. The Black Stallion and the Red Mare proved that they are up to the challenge, especially with the right attitude.
