Raymond's Run

To let someone else win on purpose is usless. If you let the other person win then they never really won. It is better to give the race or sport or any other game you're playing all you've got. It's the fairest way to play, even if you win and they don't. In the story "Raymond's Run," Mr. Pearson tells "Squeaky" or Hazel Elizabeth Deborath Parker to let Gretchen win the race. Squeaky got angry at the suggestion because in her mind she is the best runner and to lose a race would make her look bad.
